Selling at the Mauerpark Market, Berlin

So I sold my jewelry for the first time at a market this past Sunday! It was very exciting. So exciting that I actually only slept about 3 hours the night before because of anxiety! Eeek! So I was definitely exhausted even before the day started, but the beautiful sunshine and the perfect temperature of the air at 7:30 am made me happy. And it was of course great that I had a good friend with me to pass the time and share snacks with! The day started slowly as Berliners are really not early risers on the weekends. They are usually still coming home from the clubs at 7:30 am. I did actually see a few drunken couples wandering home on my way.
But by time my boyfriend came by to see me at 1:30, I had sold 4 pairs and sold the 5th while he was there. And by the end of the day I had sold 10 pairs. All in all, pretty good for my first attempt. It was seriously hot that day (about 32 C) and I overheard the guys at the tables next to me saying that it had been light and that they hadn’t sold much. They seemed to be guys who were there every Sunday, so I guess I could do better another day! It could have been the heat and also that people are on vacation in August. I’ll know after the next time I sell.
It was actually pretty fun though to people watch since Mauerpark is awesome for that. So many girls seemed to have actually dressed up for the occassion in dresses and stylish second hand outfits. There were 2 couples who were totally rockabilly style…so cute! It was also fun to see where the tourists were from (all but 2 people who bought from me were tourists). I would definitely do it again!
Here you can see some pictures of my stands. I took them at the end of the day.

Notice: this is the only stand with empty spots! I ONLY sold these funky plastic and paper earrings. How interesting! I now know what to make for the next time!
