I love food!

I wanted to post about a few recipes I recently tried out (really simple ones) and some unsuccessful cooking endeavors. First off, here is what we ate last night for dinner. Bruschetta and chicken covered with melted mozzarella, tomato and pesto (homemade).

I was inspired by our favorite TV show the other day that we usually watch during dinner. It is called Fast Food Duell and the premise is that a chef comes to someone’s home and they cook with the people who live there and compete against a fast food restaurant to be the cheapest, fastest and tastiest. It is really fun and interesting to see how the chef totally excites the people they cook with and really gets them to like cooking (these are normally people who never cook and only order fast food for dinner). Anyhow, they made this dish the other day and I had to try it out! For me, the mozzarella was a bit too rich for me, but otherwise it was tasty and the bruschetta, well bruschetta is always good.
This is what we ate a few nights ago. I was craving steaks and decided to try out a potato salad recipe as a side dish that called for onions and celery! Mmm mmm it was really good.

I wanted something chocolate-y to eat this week and decided to make some chocolate covered pretzels! I don’t use a recipe or anything. I just melt some bittersweet chocolate and dip some cheap pretzels in:)

And now, for the recipe that did not come to life this week! I found an edible pumpkin at the supermarket the other day and thought, ‘I can make pumpkin soup!’. Easier said than done. I found a nice recipe that included apples and ginger, but I didn’t get past cutting up the pumpkin. The pumpkin was so hard that my knife got stuck inside! My boyfriend pulled it out and now I don’t know what to do with a pumpkin I can’t cut! Boo hoo:(

hahah. ok besides the pumpkin, you are making dinner every night when you come!
